Q: How do I secure a
reservation at the Camilo House Apartments?
A: You need to fill out
the reservation form. We will respond in 24 hours as to
availability. Once availability is confirmed you will need to
make a 50% non-refundable deposit to confirm your reservation.
Update 12/20/2007:

Q:
What if I make a deposit and
I can't make the trip?
A: Your deposit can be
transferred to other dates (or persons), pending availability.
Q:
Can apartments be held
without a deposit?
A: No. If we confirm
availability and you don't make a deposit, the apartment will
be given to whomever makes the deposit first. No reservation
is confirmed without a deposit. No exceptions.
Q: How do I make a deposit:
A: You can make a deposit
through our PayPal account. We would send you a link and
through PayPal you can make a payment using MasterCard, Visa
or American Express.
Q: How do I pay the balance:
A: The balance is due
upon arrival and must
be paid in cash. U.S. dollars or Dominican peso equivalent is
accepted. Again, no exceptions.
Q: What time is
check-in/check-out?
A: If we have the
apartment rented for the date you are leaving then you need to
be out of the apartment by noon. If possible, late check-out
is available, you just need to inquire. If you are coming in
late, or early in the morning, then you need to notify us in
advance so that we can have someone at the building to make
sure everything goes smoothly.
Q: Are there any
2-bedroom apartments?
A: No. All the
apartments are junior 1-bedrooms, perfect for 1 or 2
people.
Q: Can more than one person
stay in the apartment?
A: Yes. But there is only one bed in the apartments. In the
future we plan on changing the loveseat in the living area
to a futon that will open to a full-size bed. Please contact
us if you want more than one person staying in an apartment.
We don't allow more than 2 people to stay in the apartment
at one time.
Q: Is there a maid to clean
the apartment?
A: Daily maid service is included in the price to rent the
apartment.
Q: Is there back-up power in
the building?
A: Each apartment comes equipped with its own inversor power
system. If the lights go off, and this being the Dominican
Republic at some point they will, the back-up system will
automatically kick-in. The back-up power systems will run all
lights, fans and TV. But, it does not run the air-conditioner
or microwave, as they eat up a lot of power.
Q:
Is there security in the building?
A: Yes. There is a
live-in manager who is on-call 24 hours.
Q: How safe is the
surrounding area?
A: The building is
located in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. It is a tourist
area with its own police force. The area is also home to
important monuments to the country and is patrolled by the
National Police and Military. As always, common-sense is
advised.
Q: Are there any ATM's,
restaurants available nearby?
A: Yes. Within a 5-block
radius are several restaurants, along with a 24-hour ATM.

apartment stocked with water and some food?
A: Yes. You can tell us
what you require and we will purchase for you and give you the
bill upon your arrival.
Q: Does the building have an
elevator?
A: No. It is a 4-floor
walk-up.
Q: Do you provide
transportation from the airport?
A: Yes. We have a van
with a driver that speaks English and we can pick you up from
the airport for an additional charge.
